Sam Stovall is the Chief Equity Strategist of the S&P IQ Equity Research Department. As a financial analyst, he monitors the market and overall economy. He is also the Chairman of the S&P Investment Policy Committee, which focuses on market history, valuations, and industry momentum strategies. Sam has written two books about the market and investing: “The Seven Rules of Wall Street” and “The Standard & Poor’s Guide to Sector Investing.” Additionally, he writes a weekly investment column on S&P Capital IQ’s MarketScope Advisor platform.
Sam earned his MBA in Finance from New York University and BA in History and Education from Muhlenberg College. He is a Certified Financial Planner and Trustee of the Securities Industry Institute at The Wharton School of Business.
